 The VIG Escort 2/8
Upcoming event! Get the level 1 VIG (Very Important Gnome) through Northrend!
What is a VIG Escort?
A VIG Escort (I made that up btw, pretty nifty eh?) is about bringing a level 1 gnome through an area where he could normally never go.
To help him out he will team up with 2 bodyguards (Level 80 only) that will with cunning and brute force pull him through the mass of hostiles to where he have to go.
Where is this and what do I need?
The start is at Valgarde (Howling Fjord starting town) and the end is at Gundrak, under the big Rhino.
What you have to do is sign up as either a VIG or as a Body Guard. Before start you will be assigned to a VIG or to your Body Guards, and when the whistle blows, all you have to do is get to Wintergarde Keep as fast as possible.
Normally events like this do not have the route announced in advance, but due to the difficulty, I thought it best if people have a chance to plan in advance.
How do the level 1's get there?
We will use a Warlock to summon the gnomes to the starting line.
When is this?
Saturday 2/8-2009 at 17:00 sever time. Invites and preparations start 30 minutes earlier. Starting whistle goes at 17:00 sharp.
How long does this event take?
It ofcourse depends on how often your teams VIG dies, but after some testing I would say about up towards an hour. For the last race I seriously misjudged the time, and it was done in less the 25 minutes, but this track is both longer and more difficult.
How many must show up?
At least 9 people, that is 3 teams must show. If we have un-even singups we will make teams according to who sign up first.
Who can join?
Only guildies. If some non-guildie friend really want to make the run, they are welcome to do so for the honor of winning if there is places to spare, but prizes will only be given to guild members.
How is the winner decided?
I am the one and only judge. The first team who's VIG that reaches Gundrak and stands under the big Rhino will be declared winners.
Prizes?
1st place: 500g per person
2nd place: 300g per person
3rd place: 100g per person
For 3rd place prices to be given, there need to be atleast 4 teams (12 players).
Rules:
No rules what so ever for the Body Guards. They can go to Dalaran and have a coffee if they want. Rules only apply to the VIG, and are the same as for a Rat Race:
No ports, hearthing, summons, grave hopping or resses allowed. No involvation of people not part of the Event (as in clearing for your group).
Specific rules are that no VIG may be ressed, or other similar things like Soul Stones. Body Guards may ress eachother or use whatever skills they have.
Hunters are also not allowed to use Aspect of the Pack, as this give an unfair speed buff to the VIG. If there are any other speed modifiers that I do not know of, these are also not allowed. Apart from this, no buffs are allowed to be put on the Gnome.
Basicly, just fair play.

Loved that Gnome race last time, still have him on the character list. Strongly urge people to try this as it's great fun.
